Itinerary

Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel, relaxing and preparing for the exciting journey ahead.

In the morning, embark on a sightseeing tour of Kochi, visiting notable landmarks such as Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets, and Fort Kochi.

Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, was built by the Portuguese in 1557 and later renovated by the Dutch in 1663. It houses a rich collection of artifacts and is particularly renowned for its stunning murals, which are among the most detailed and well-preserved in India.

Next, explore the Jewish Synagogue, built in 1568. The synagogue holds Torah scrolls, Old Testament manuscripts, and copper plates that document the privileges granted to the Jewish community by the Kochi rulers. Kochi was once home to two Jewish communities—the ‘black Jews’ who arrived in 587 BC and the ‘white Jews’ who came later—both of whom played significant roles in trade. The fascinating Jew Town area near the synagogue is known for its blend of old shops, spice auction rooms, and historical warehouses.

Visit St. Francis Church, where Vasco da Gama died in 1524 and was initially buried before his body was taken to Portugal. The church was later renamed St. Francis in 1663, becoming a Protestant and then Anglican church before joining the Church of South India in 1949.

Lastly, take in the view of the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, a testament to centuries of Chinese influence along the coast.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, drive to Munnar. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy some leisure time in the afternoon to relax and explore the scenic surroundings. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, visit the Tea Museum, where you can learn about the fascinating history of tea plantations in Munnar. The museum, located at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea, showcases curios, photographs, and machinery, shedding light on the evolution of tea cultivation in the region.

Next, head to Eravikulam National Park, located about 15 km from Munnar. This park is renowned for being home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, as well as various rare butterflies, animals, and birds. The park is also a great place for trekking, offering breathtaking views of the tea plantations and mist-covered hills. If you visit during the flowering season of Neelakurinji, you’ll witness the stunning sight of the hills blanketed in blue, a rare event that occurs once every twelve years.

Return to your hotel in Munnar for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Periyar National Park, one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife sanctuaries. Known for its tiger reserve, diverse wildlife, and scenic beauty, Periyar offers a unique experience for nature lovers.

In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar, providing a rare opportunity to view wildlife up close from the safety of the boat. The highlight of the boat ride is the herds of wild elephants that often come down to the lake to drink, bathe, and play. This peaceful and picturesque setting is one of the best ways to experience the wildlife and natural beauty of Periyar.

Overnight stay at the hotel in Periyar.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and depart for Alleppey by surface. Upon arrival, board a traditional Kerala houseboat for a unique backwater cruise.

Cruise through a network of serene canals, passing picturesque villages and coconut tree-lined shores. Alleppey, once called the "Venice of the East" by Marco Polo, is renowned for its beautiful backwaters and traditional houseboat cruises. Situated at the southern end of Lake Vembanadu, the largest lake in India, the town is also a hub for Kerala's coir and cashew nut industries.

As you float through the backwaters, enjoy the lush landscapes, abundant flora and fauna, and local life. You'll see charming churches, temples, and traditional methods of fishing and agriculture, all while experiencing the friendly and welcoming spirit of the people living in these idyllic villages.

Overnight on board the houseboat, enjoying a tranquil and unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat and depart for Cochin by surface. Upon arrival in Cochin, check-in at the hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Enjoy the comfort of your hotel or explore the local area at your own pace.

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the area at your own pace. You can relax by the backwaters, visit the local markets, or simply enjoy the serene surroundings. No transport services will be provided on this day.

Overnight stay at a hotel in Kumarakom.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
